Sixteen second-round qualifying matches were played on Monday on the AZS Poznań courts at the Astra Coffee & More Open 2026. Poles won ten of them. Darrshan Suresh, seeded second and ranked 44th on the ITF ranking, went out.

Four seeds fall
Four seeded players lost in the second round: Suresh, Evangelos Kypriotis (5), Juliusz Bieńkiewicz (8) and Jakub Hrynkiewicz (15). All four were beaten by unseeded opponents — and those four are the complete unseeded contingent to reach the third round.
The loudest of those results was Dawid Lewandowski's win over Suresh. The Pole took the first set in a tie-break 7-6(5), dropped the second 3-6 and settled the match in a super tie-break 10-3. Bruno Kokot beat Kypriotis after losing the opening set — 4-6, 7-5, 10-2. Jiri Jindacek saw off Bieńkiewicz 6-4, 6-4, and Dawid Wiśniewski beat Hrynkiewicz 6-4, 6-3.
Three of the sixteen matches went to a deciding super tie-break, and in all three the winner was the player who had dropped a set or had to come from behind: Lewandowski, Kokot and Wojciech Marek. At the other end of the scale stood Leonardo Iemmi, who gave Norbert Zieliński a single game (6-1, 6-0). Jan Chłodnicki dropped two (6-2, 6-0), and Oliwier Sterniczuk, Miłosz Sroka and Peetu Pohjola three each.
One wild card left
Of the seven wild-card holders in qualifying, one is still standing after two days of play. Wojciech Marek came from a set down against Maciej Matuszczyk to win 2-6, 6-1, 10-3. His last two companions went out on Monday: Jan Werbliński lost to Miłosz Sroka 3-6, 0-6, and Norbert Zieliński fell to Leonardo Iemmi 1-6, 0-6.
Three all-Polish matches, three guaranteed places
Tuesday's third round is eight matches for eight places in the main draw. Ten of the sixteen players left are Polish, and in three of the pairings they face each other: Szajrych against Wiśniewski, Kokot against Chłodnicki and Sterniczuk against Sroka. Three of those places are therefore already guaranteed to go to Poles.
In four more matches a Pole meets a foreign opponent — Lewandowski against Tarasevich, Marek against Savano, Michocki against Pohjola and Kaczmarek against Iemmi. Only one match will be played without a Pole: Jindacek against Finkelstein.
That means between three and seven Poles will come through qualifying into the main draw.
The main draw is out
The main draw was also made on Monday. The eight places marked Qualifier will go to the winners of Tuesday's qualifying matches.
The top seed is Daniel Michalski, the 2024 Astra Open champion, who begins against Argentina's Franco Ribero. Seeded eighth is Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutyński, last year's winner of the tournament — in the first round he meets wild card Hugo Rytelewski. Both champions of the last two years are therefore in the field from day one.

Tuesday 25 August is the first day of the main draw and, at the same time, the day of the decisive qualifying round. Each of the four courts hosts two qualifying matches, one first-round singles match and one first-round doubles match. Play starts at 10:00.
