On Sunday 16 first-round qualifying matches of the Astra Coffee & More Open 2026 were played on the AZS courts in Pozna\u0144. Poles won nine of them. The longest match of the day was decided only in the deciding tie-break, at 12-10.<\/p>\n

The longest battle was between Szymon Karpi\u0144ski and Przemys\u0142aw Sioda: Karpi\u0144ski took the first set 6-4, dropped the second 1-6 and settled the match only at 12-10. Kevin Pabisiak also needed three sets against Miko\u0142aj Borkowski \u2013 more on that match below.<\/p>\n At the other end of the day was Sebastian Truszczy\u0144ski, representing Switzerland, who did not concede Mario Nicolas Alarcon a single game. Filip Kosi\u0144ski came close, dropping just two games to Adam D\u0105browski (6-2, 6-0), as did Maciej Matuszczyk, who won the first set against Elias Barth 6-0 and the match 6-0, 6-3.<\/p>\n Miko\u0142aj Borkowski, the player with the longest span of appearances in the history of the Pozna\u0144 tournament \u2013 he has been playing here since 2005 \u2013 ended his tenth appearance in the first round. Against Kevin Pabisiak he won the first set 6-4 and forced a tie-break in the second, but lost it 5-7. The match was decided by the deciding-set tie-break, which went Pabisiak's way 10-4. The final score was 4-6, 7-6(5), 10-4.<\/p>\n Borkowski was given his place in this year's qualifying at the last moment, after withdrawals from the entry list. Twenty-one years have passed since his first appearance in Pozna\u0144.<\/p>\n Three of the seven wild-card holders are still in the qualifying draw. Jan Werbli\u0144ski won an all-wild-card duel with Karol Romer, Norbert Zieli\u0144ski advanced by walkover, and Wojciech Marek starts the tournament in the second round. Adam D\u0105browski, Maksymilian Doma\u0144ski, Karol Romer and Marco Antonio Inga Huauya are out.<\/p>\n In the second round the nine Poles and seven foreign winners of Sunday's matches are joined by sixteen players who had a bye in the first round. Among them the highest-ranked player in the entire qualifying draw \u2013 Malaysia's\u00a0Darrshan Suresh<\/strong>, ranked 44th on the ITF list \u2013 as well as Americans Alex Finkelstein and Michael Savano, Greece's Evangelos Kypriotis, Italy's Leonardo Iemmi and Finland's Peetu Pohjola. The second-round field is made up of 18 Poles and 14 foreign players.<\/p>\n Play starts at 10:00 on four courts.<\/p>\n Court 1<\/strong><\/p>\n Court 2<\/strong><\/p>\n Court 3<\/strong><\/p>\n Court 4<\/strong><\/p>\n The winners of Monday's matches will play on Tuesday 25 August in the third and decisive round of qualifying for eight places in the main draw.
