Two heavy downpours pushed back Friday's programme at the 26th International Greater Poland Tennis Championships – Astra Coffee & More Open 2025 by several hours. The first ball of the quarter-finals was not struck until 18:00, and the last match of the day was finished under floodlights. All four singles quarter-finals were completed.
The court crew saved the day
Clay is unplayable after a downpour until the water has been taken off and the surface levelled. After two fronts had passed through, the AZS Poznań court staff got the courts back into tournament condition quickly enough for the referee to send the players out the same day. The doubles matches scheduled for Friday were cancelled and rescheduled.

The Czech, world No. 691, gave the second-seeded Frenchman, ranked 309th on the ATP list, only three games. It was Donald's second win of this kind at the tournament – the day before he had knocked out the sixth seed Alec Beckley.
The all-Polish quarter-final went to Lechno-Wasiutyński. The Poznań player, who entered the draw on a wild card, beat the highest-ranked Pole in the field after more than two hours and became the last Polish player left in the tournament.
The Erhard – Kivattsev match was suspended because of failing light at 6-3 1-2 for the Frenchman. Once the floodlights were on, the players returned to court and finished the match. Kivattsev levelled, but in the deciding set it was Erhard who broke late and won 7-5.
Who is still in
After the quarter-finals the draw was down to Mathys Erhard, Alexey Vatutin, Matthew William Donald and Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutyński. Of the eight seeds, two reached the semi-finals.

The singles semi-finals and the outstanding doubles matches are scheduled for Saturday, with play starting at 11:30. Admission to the AZS Poznań courts is free.
