Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutyński has won the 26th International Greater Poland Tennis Championships – Astra Coffee & More Open 2025. In a final lasting almost three hours the Poznań player beat the top seed, France's Mathys Erhard, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. It is the first title won by a wild card in the twenty-six-year history of the tournament.
The final: from a lost set to a break in the twelfth game
Erhard, ranked 249th on the ATP list, went into the final as the clear favourite. Almost fifteen hundred places separated him from his opponent – Lechno-Wasiutyński started the tournament ranked 1721st and without the organisers' wild card would not have been in the main draw at all.

M. Erhard [1]625The first set confirmed those odds. The Frenchman took it 6-4 and controlled the rallies from the baseline. In the second set the picture changed: the Pole began to shorten the rallies, came to the net and gave up only two games. In the deciding set neither player dropped serve until 5-5. The decision came in the twelfth game – Lechno-Wasiutyński broke Erhard and closed out the match 7-5.
The Poznań player's route through the draw
The champion came through five rounds, with the last three matches all decided in a third set.

In the quarter-final the Pole knocked out the highest-ranked home player in the field, and in the semi-final a player who the day before had crushed the second seed Corentin Denolly 6-2 6-1. Erhard had come through the tournament without dropping a set until the quarter-final, where he had to come from behind against Kirill Kivattsev, and the match was finished under floodlights.
The doubles title for Hsu and Ozolins

C. Gannon / H. Rock645In the doubles final the unseeded pair of Jeffrey Hsu and Karlis Ozolins beat Conor Gannon and Harry Rock 2-6 6-4 10-5. The winners went through the whole tournament unseeded: in the quarter-final they knocked out the top seeds Alec Beckley and Nikita Mashtakov 3-6 6-4 10-7, and reached the final by walkover after the Denolly – Erhard pair withdrew.
For Ozolins it was a doubly successful tournament. The Latvian came through singles qualifying, knocked out the fifth seed, Ukraine's Oleksii Krutykh, 6-3 6-0 in the first round of the main draw, and ended the week with the doubles title.
The week in numbers
The tournament was played from 24 to 31 August on the AZS courts in Poznań. Qualifying, with 48 players, took two days; the singles and doubles main draws the following six. Thirteen Poles played in the singles main draw and ten in the doubles. The prize money was $30,000, and the singles champion added 25 ATP ranking points.
The International Greater Poland Tennis Championships are the oldest professional tournament in Poland to have been held without a break. Astra Coffee & More Open is the name the event has carried since 2024, after its title sponsor. It is also the richest men's event on the LOTTO PZT Polish Tour – the Polish National Cup. The ITF has recognised the tournament's continuity with the Tournament Recognition Longevity Award.
